Below is a list of events that are happening in Detroit to oppose the multifaceted attack on the people and governance by the people:

Today, April 4:  At 4:30, march from the AFSCME Building, 600 W. Lafayette at Third, to the Labor Monument at Hart Plaza, rally at 5:45 pm against working people, on anniversary of King assassination. Contingent also marching from Central United Methodist Church on Woodward.

Tuesday, April 5: A teach-in at WSU, 1:30 to 5 pm, teleconference with Frances Fox Piven and Cornel West and local speakers ( see attached flyer)

Wednesday, April 6: A rally at 3:30 at Carleton school to keep Bobb from closing that school, sponsored by the Carleton LSCO, at 11724 Casino (near Beaconsfield and Moross)

Wednesday, April 6 & Thursday April 7: Press conference April 6 at 5 pm and hearing April 7 at 10am regarding Wayne County Commissioner Martha Scott’s call against foreclosures (see attached flyer)

Thursday, April 7: DFT executive board has unanimously call for a rally at 4 pm at the Fisher Building to oppose Bobb plan to close or charter dozens of schools.

Monday, April 11: Town hall meeting on Snyder budget, 6 to 8 pm ( see attached flyer)

Wednesday, April 13: Rally in Lansing Noon to 5 pm to oppose Emergency Managers, Snyder budget and antiUnion legislation. Major coalition effort.
